THANK YOU, to everyone who has written to me about Reggie.  Your encouragement is greatly appreciated.  Reggie never was able to bond with his dam who suffered a heart attack & died while delivering Reggie.  She was born here and this is where she is now buried.  Her picture (below) is currently being used (with my permission) by the Midwest Paint Horse NetRing and was taken when Bonnie was 4 days old.

JUST ONE TIN SOLDIER a.k.a. Reggie a.k.a. The Soldier is now buried here as well.

It is with profound sadness that I now write.  Reggie, a.k.a. "The Soldier", just two weeks away from his trip to his new home with the Carlisle family in New Mexico, succumbed to a telescoped intestine.  He became ill with what appeared to be impaction colic on Sunday May 26, 2002.  After treatment he rallied and seemed as though he would still be in good shape for his trip.   However, the severity of his condition soon became apparent and he was euthanized on Monday May 27th.
During his too short life on this earth Reggie touched many lives here at home and I know that his arrival was anxiously awaited in New Mexico along with Baron Skip Siemon.
My heartfelt thanks go out to all of Reggie's friends who worked along with me to see that he survived being orphaned and those who were with him, and me, that final dreadful day:  Dr. Rick Wooden of Anderson Animal Hospital who worked so hard over the Memorial Day holiday and his day off; Brian, Kirsten & Marcus Scott of B K Scott Farm; my neighbors Gary P. and Willie; my very dear friends, Patrice, Dusty, Misty and Manda Lasiter;  Rick & Gayle Biganowski of Barefoot Ranch; and Rick Olbrey who owned the sire of Reggie's dam and Reggie's own sire.
My sincerest condolences and thanks to the Carlisle family.  I know that you already loved him as much as I did.

To Reggie,
You gave me a year of joy even though you were a royal pest at times.  I know, by now, that you've found Bonnie (the mama that you never knew) up there and you'll both be there to greet me when its my time.  I miss you little one and I'm so sorry that I couldn't make it all better this time, but I know you're not hurting anymore.
I love you,
Kathy
